Zoom Telephonics Begins Shipping Hayes Products Through National Distributors

Boston, MA, July 15, 1999 -- Zoom Telephonics, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOM) – Zoom Telephonics has begun shipping the popular Hayes ACCURA brand 56K modem products through leading national distributors. Distributors for the Hayes modem line include Gates/Arrow, Ingram Micro, Merisel, and Tech Data.

In the USA, Zoom Telephonics intends to focus the Hayes brand on the Value Added Reseller (VAR) channel with special marketing programs, technical support, and sales support dedicated to VARs. Hayes brand products produced by Zoom Telephonics have the same appearance and functionality as the high quality products shipped when Hayes was an independent company operating from Norcross, Georgia. In addition, the Hayes product firmware has been updated with the latest V.90 modem code.

Hayes OPTIMA brand products, which provide advanced features such as synchronous and auto synchronous capability, advanced security, and remote modem configuration, will begin shipping to Hayes distributors in the USA later this month.
