Zoom Telephonics Announces Product Direction for Global Village

-- Zoom Telephonics Inc. (NASDAQ: ZOOM)
announced today the product direction for its recently acquired
Global Village brand. New Global Village products
are expected to include dialup modems with the new V.92 standard,
ADSL modems, cable modems and wireless LAN products.

Zoom intends to ship a Global Village modem with the
new ITU V.92 international standard in the fourth quarter
of this year. The new Global Village V.92 modem will ship
with the highly rated GlobalFax™ software. Other new
Global Village products are expected to follow in 2001 and
beyond. Experienced Global Village technical support
staff members have been retained by Zoom Telephonics. That
staff will continue to provide technical support for Global
